Golden Wings - Free Verse

'Wings on the Sun...'
Swallowtail, Yellow and Black Butterfly ~ Gold Sunflower

Butterflies
circle spring flowers
 that is in splendid bloom,
fluttering their wings
grasping gently the golden
cone of honey within the
center of their found treasure
Taking leisurely sips
from the golden food
that will nourish again
their weakened wings,
that will take them on
a flights journey -
where butterflies go
Golden halos
surrounds their
delicate descending
path of discovery,
protecting their wings
from danger as they
drink the golden nectar
Strength revises
vibrant delicate souls
purifying an inner core,
cleansing and preparing
for a flight ascending
to a glorious height -
 as golden wings soar

Miniature Red Rose Bush
Produced Roses Each Day for Six Years

Miniature Love

Spring - you came to me
a budding miniature rose bush
with a deep red hue that holds
dew drops between her petals

Summer - you came to me
your natural radiant beauty that
showered me with delicate buds
bringing me happiness for days

Autumn - you came to me
to my surprise coming one last time
a single miniature rose bud for me
to entwine with grateful joy

Winter - you came to me
snow to put you to sleep resting safely
until the following Spring and then you
will peek again through the soil -

 Bringing me happiness from your
structure of miniature love

Welcome Spring

Welcome Spring

This year I have waited like no
other for Spring to come back my way.
Watching the silent trees for a signal of new growth,
listening for the birds to sing their first tune,
watching people to see if they step just a bit lighter.

Spring you have come again with beauty.
You are finally here for all to sing about.
Seeing the Daffodils starting to grow
Tulips poking their new born sprouts up
through the hardened earth reaching for the sun.

I am happy for my Spring is here.
I am going outside to enjoy every moment
of this glorious time of year,
seeing it all, the new growth of it.
spending every second I can in God’s...

seasonal creation of love

Free Verse...

The Cosmos

Man’s mind spins with uncertainty
of the myths around one’s soul
questions of the ageless universe and its
solar system of depth beyond man's eye

Penetrating ancient books of repeated lists
of misunderstood statements from minds
that search to reveal what is hidden within
black galaxy of stars and their rotating planets

Such searching remain with questions
for the quest to reveal has gone on for
thousand of years with the evolution of man
and the creatures who inhabit earth with him -

He will continue to search for answers
as to the existence of the Cosmos

'Halo Reach'

Within My Reach

I am happy, laid back and everything is going my way!
You know why, I ask? Because I have faith -
Yes, a simple five letter word that contains hope,
promise and love not only for myself, but for others.

Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t always this way!
I had to work at achieving this graceful state,
working some days just a little bit harder to keep
faith within my reach, for the world can be harsh.

One must love themselves in order to feel the love
towards others. The jealousy, anger or mistrust has
to be barred, in order to go forth with joy in one’s heart,
wearing a facade only covers the inner pain of sadness.

One can pretend as they carry that dark cloud upon
their weary shoulders. No, learn to be in love with one’s self,
as you take a moment to notice what is around the bend so
you may touch others with the beauty growing within your soul -

then and only then, will you feel His grace.

Rhyme...

A Pen’s Expression

Poetry, expression to share
hidden in an eternal hall;
written with emotional flair
poems safe in a journal’s wall.

Emotions mentally engaged
poetry, expression to share,
line by line gives birth to a page
ink drying on paper with care.

Words conveyed so one is aware
secrets told a revealing way,
poetry, expression to share
calls you hear what words may say.

A poet’s world is a gentle way
composed with compassionate care,
words penned forever and a day
poetry, expression to share.

Sonnet...

A Women Scorn

The heart has turned away hiding inside
Conceals the pure love that once did glow
Afraid to reveal pain the heart does show
Broken with slashes deep trying to hide
Body mends the mind closed the gap so wide
Love has taken the soul far below
Buries the guilt so his hand cannot sow
Heart crying deep tears as true love has died

Soul has learned not to trust anymore
Steals ones mind and thoughts not to restore
His lying lips she’s now a woman scorn
Emotions wasted on visions now torn
Walks alone to regain life as was born
Brings hope to a women who is lovelorn

- Rhoda Galgiani

Nagauta Lyric...

Sweetly Speaking

 A light is shining
Glowing from my heart like gold
      Glimmers through ripples
      Of a cool shimmering brook
Hearing secret thoughts untold

 Sweetly speaking words
To those torn apart I say
      Voice of painful scars
      With a hopeless dying breath
Pray now for a brand new way

 Autumn shows her hues
Carries souls to rainbow heights
      Let my golden light
Guide them up and far away
Sleeping somber gentle nights

Free Verse...

Our Destiny

Golden hues cast their
spell over the setting sun
Another day has passed
Warmth leaves the soul as the
evening breeze swirls swiftly by

Longing to dream just a bit longer
taking in the treasures of today
casually drifting into the awaited peace
that is coming, peace that will soothe
the body and soul for another day

Visions of today clutter the mind
bringing pleasure to the lips
Memories have developed from
today carefully being filed along
with others of days gone by

The heart is full with the
life that is taken for granted.
Dare do we question the events
of the daily routine that is before us?
It is said, how dare we...

for our destiny
has already been chosen

Happy Valentine's Day from Karen O'Leary...

Valentine Reflection
Love is not endless
euphoria and passion.
Its intertwined
harmony climbs steep
hardships with balance
and exalts in others'
triumphs with true joy.
Love absorbs peace
and endures with faith.
