Happy Easter...

'Expressions' Sends Easter
 Greetings to All From,

Rhoda, Max and Gracie

Love Opens...

Love opens the door to one’s heart
if one is brave enough to let it in

One doesn’t know how lonely they are
as feelings were suppressed for years on end

Afraid to open their eyes so they may see
blocked the sunlight darkening deep within

Learn how to live accept love’s gift
Taking a chance on emotions again

Ascend life to higher rainbow peak
Love can cure detained sadness within

One must be ready to take a chance
to complete a cycle determined by Him –

for love is the answer He has sent

Broken Bond

Your dark shallow mind cannot see
Looking beyond a love for thee
Time given fulfills life long dream
Lost together their bonded theme
Broken apart there is no we

One’s life is an old single me
My dance is gone there is no glee
Broken bond with empty love scheme
Your dark shallow mind

Promises made with he and she
Vows of love together with me
Glow in heart like a sunlit beam
Now shattered  in a wayward stream
A broken bond you are now free
Your dark shallow mind

PAL
(A German Shepherd)

Pal was all waggles and wiggles - loved to wrestle
He could jump his backyard fence so easily
To play with the children who loved him

Perhaps the love given on both sides
that summer was enough

Perhaps I could forgive myself - someday
For calling Pal across the busy street to play
But could I ever forget the THUMP!
Pal skidding his nose
               Along the hot pitch street
                 Whining desperately

Perhaps the love given on both sides would be enough
Perhaps that love would be enough for one dog’s life

Editor's Note:

David Austin, MI sent me the following message:

"I thought you might like this poem for your Expressions.
It's quite sad. I tear up every time I read it because it's so
dear to memory."

Poetry Lover's Delight ~ Karen O'Leary

Winding Road

Ten paces past yesterday,
long after the rising sun,
my life’s journey continues
though I do not know how long.

Each step up the mountainside
is another challenge won.
And when the day is over,
I hope I have touched someone.

For the road still beyond me;
I trust God to guide my way.
With faith’s strength and compassion,
I walk the path of today.

Forever Tomorrow

I long for what I once knew
the love of my life who was you,
coming to me in a time of sorrow
staying with me forever tomorrow.

I long for what I once had
lost love that left my tears so sad,
quickly as special love came
it left me; no one is to blame.

I long for what I once lost
love I felt freely without cost,
secure with my heart complete
our love was tender and oh, so sweet -

My heart knows you shall not come home
years passed and I sit silently alone

- Rhoda Galgiani
