Empty Nest

A mind lonely -
Framed painted picture
Swirl of lost colors
Painted blends become single hue
Design captured from its own grey
Tears moist brush
Brings movement
One completes cycle empty nest
Searches for light on a new path
Visions peek through cracks of life
Maps a direction to take
Search is - complete

Who's You's?

I met a man the other day,
he said to me, 'Who’s you’s?'
 I said 'Who’s me?'
He said, 'Si, Who’s you’s?'
 I smiled with glee!
His voice was strong
 with an accent so clear
I wondered who he was and
what he was doing here.
His name is Miguel and
he is new in our town
looking for work so he can
hang his hat and settle down.
Says he likes the place
where he now dwells
down the street a ways
in a boarding house by a
church with loud ringing bells.
So, off he went strolling
 down the crowded street
say’in 'hello' to all he
 would casually meet.
I wish him well in a new
country to which he has come
looking for the American dream
just like everyone!

Lost Decades

Love’s strength is my faith’s companion the
sometimes echo voices of one’s withered dreams
My golden web of trust was robbed of its security
burning old stages weathered from life’s hand
With breath, I take the sigh as I spin me hopeful
lost life the decades claim will become mine again

Entwined

Red oaks in golden field
stand firm in north wind
bracing each other
two better than one -
entwined weathering storms

The Learning Game

Knowledge will light
your way to doors
that open wide
thus, teaching you
interesting facts
that builds blocks of
information
for your future

Study the books
before your eyes
displaying skills
also, listen
to those who teach
for their knowledge
will expand your
abilities

Creative words
come to ones mind
that will be shared
with others who
want to explore
their own ideas
everlasting
on a desktop
