Rural Thoughts
Shadows deep
Hold secrets swarming
Within an untold mind
Reach for aspens
Painted on portraits

Snow Kitty...

Snow
Pure white
Shinning so bright
Frozen ice from the sky

Snowflakes are born from the cold snow
Sparkles shine each piece carries a glow

Frozen ice from the sky

Cold snow ice angels are silently spun
Frisky are kitties playing as they run

Frozen ice from the sky
Love warms heart
Winter pens

A Winter's Moon

A winter’s moon touches the clouded sky
never giving thought as to how and why
brings eerie filtered light to darkened trees
creates wandering paths with gentle breeze

Lines of a face seemingly tired and old
moons imprint reveal tales it can be told
years of moonlight shines down on earth
captures history that hide a tales worth

Streaming yarns of decades and their glories
the man in the moon records their stories
never forgets who created it all
forming a structure so no one would fall

the cold winter's moon sits high in the sky
never giving thought as to how and why

The Face of My Father

I saw His face when I was young
not knowing who or where he was from
for His glorious name was not said to me
somehow faith escaped my family
oh, not because of disrespect to Him but,
because of lack of spiritual harmony

I saw His face as I grew older
connected with prayer and church
as people spoke of Him and said His
name sometimes in a praying whisper
oh, not because of hidden shame but,
because of faithful love for His name

I saw His face one day as He
came my way showing me His
love as I started to pray coming
to my heart telling me He would stay
oh, not because of my guilt or fear but,
because He loves me so very dear…

the face of my Father

On My Way

You bring calm to me
and others with your
laid back personality
bringing an assurance
all today is well

A smile that welcomes
a hello inviting one in
when one may feel low
your charm and likeable
smile turns things around
as trust renews one’s faith

One walks a little taller
on their way for today
is a delight knowing you
one shall return again
coming to hear your say -
how are you today?
and we say just fine!
