gentle morning mist
scarlet glow sets evening sun
nature's unwrapped gifts

Spring, Oh Spring!

Spring comes to me
with sparkle and glow
as the sun shines brightly
on a day yearned for so

Buds beautifully come to bloom
although struggle in the ground
been a long winters sleep
reach the sun soon to be found

Tree leaves will flourish their birth
birds chirp while they build their nests
squirrels run and play together
lay on branches they come to rest

Spring, oh spring excited you are here
longed for months for you to show
beautiful time for all to warmly share
happy days we're all a sunny glow

A Long Winter's Day

Today is calm a pure delight
sun brightly shining
kitties enjoy the window light

Winter has been harsh for all
cold and dreary each morn
seems all started late last fall

Know down deep spring is near
all wait with gladness to share
first spring day is rain - don't cheer

Days will come full of play
long winter for all is now gone
silently sleeps until another day

Feelings

Long ago, feelings gone and lost
disappeared - who cared the cost,
emotion tears the mind apart
knew truth from a youthful start

Carry on with life’s unsettled woes
doing what’s right the simple life goes,
nurtures all except for whats within
fulfills emotion so love can begin

Time passed year to year
thoughts embedded hides a tear,
knowing peace would come one day
one is tested to see if faith strays

The heart though strained and tried
carried a pain difficult to hide,
the day suddenly told its goodbyes
to a world that displays hidden lies -

as sorrow slowly buries its past

Memory's Book

Misty dawn’s light touches the windowsill
awakes the sleeping silent Whippoorwill
calls his heart to sing an early morn's song
chanting to others, he sings - come along

Take the road that leads to a peaceful walk
stroll together, we remember and talk
special events in our life come and go
nothing to change, happy with what we sow

All that crossed our life’s path was pure delight
as it was intended, life was just right
memories tucked away in the mind’s book
there for one to savor and take a look

Old pages worn and torn from fingers touch
looking back fills the heart with love and such
