Carousel Race...

Up and down, round and round
The carousel circle flow
Around around, up and down
Watch the wooden horse go

A childhood memory
We all have a few
A little piece of history
Will never be a fond adieux

The painted treasures we did ride
Amongst the many to choose
Our favorite was our pride
To us it did amuse

So set yourself and join the pace
The ride is almost through
We always said we won the race
As we ride as our steeds flew

Sonnet...

A Women Scorn

The heart has turned away hiding inside
Conceals the pure love that once did glow
Afraid to reveal pain the heart does show
Broken with slashes deep trying to hide

Body mends the mind closed the gap so wide
Love has taken the soul far below
Buries the guilt so his hand cannot sow
Heart crying deep tears as true love has died

Soul has learned not to trust anymore
Steals ones mind and thoughts not to restore
His lying lips she’s now a woman scorn
Emotions wasted on visions now torn

Walks alone to regain life as was born
Brings hope to a women who is lovelorn

Free Verse...

For Tomorrow

Sensation penetrates the troubled mind
as if to sooth, to comfort the turmoil of
conflict that came before the darkened brow

Life of confidence, of one’s serenity is
shattered just for the moment at hand
a moment that is taken for granted in life

Ray of light shows a stumble is one’s road
bringing one to their knees just for an instant
not forever as the saddened mind would suggest

Life has its woes that brings one to shed tears
something tells the dark heart not to worry
God’s there to wash one clean for tomorrow

- Rhoda Galgiani

Free Verse Poetry Form has no rhyme, no special line length or no special pattern. It sounds like natural speech. It tells a story or paints a picture. It uses carefully chosen words to describe experiences or feelings. It is written like a poem and not like a paragraph. It must make sense to the reader…rg

In Memory of Max

Those who love you will really miss
They send up their love and a kiss
Your “Meow” was so great to hear
You are in their hearts very dear

Your new home has great love and peace
Keep their love and playtime release
Many pets are here to befriend
My own pet vibrations I send

Watch down from heaven with content
In Paradise your hours are well spent
In their dreams let your spirit soar
I do know that you they adore!

Comfort I try to bring to all
You’ll have much fun like dog with ball!
A King you are wherever you roam
Rest in peace in your lovely home

A Royal Feline -
His Name is Mr. Max

Dear Mr. Max -

For Seventeen years, you gave me
your devoted love and companionship.
You never complained or whined
or show a moment of wanting
anything else, but what you had.
Always a purr in your throat
never a howl or hiss from you
your royal beauty out stood all
other felines around you.

For you Mr. Max were the
 King of the Feline World…

Love from,
The Mother Cat

Friends...

It is said, one can count their true friends on one hand...

I have a loyal friend, her name is Karen.
She is always there for me whether
I need her or not - this is the
kind of person she is. This is
the note she sent to me today -
because she cares. With a friend like
this, could I ask for anything more?

The Light of Truth...

During a time when faith was swallowed
by forces of a dismal withdrawal from life,
a solitary mind could not expand or fight
the reality of what was before its body lost

Beaten down by confusion, by a confinement
of ones thought process, longing to be within
oneself, thy desire to dwell among a peaceful
existence that was sadly drawn away

Striving to achieve true wellness of a spirit,
the soul continues to survive a hindering
black weight put upon its body that must
carry a burden heavy to a bewildered mind

Praying to break the chain that confines a will
of the captured being of beings, the grace of
one shall over come a blackened hold that
entwined two arms that reach out to ones world -

as the light of truth shall overcome

Happy Mother's Day...

One who is the strength
the one you can lean on
who has the right answer
when questions are undone

One who gives her heart
and wipes away our tears
shares her love from the start
fixes our messes rids us of fears

One who taught us from day one
all that our lives shall come to be
taking pride in daughter and son
our Mother, God watches over thee

Happy Mother’s Day

My Owner is Welcome, Too!

Dogs Welcome

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a
Midwest
town he planned to visit on his vacation.

He wrote: I would very much like to bring my dog with me.
He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be
willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?"

An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote:

SIR: "I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that
time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware
or pictures off the walls.  I've never had to evict a dog in
the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly.
And, I’ve never had a dog run out on a hotel bill.

Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel.
And, if your dog will vouch for you,
you're welcome to stay here, too."

Struggle is on going with
an up and down motion
the mind becomes tangled
with confusion of its body

Intimidation, a wall of black
divides the want and will as the
mind drives one into a depth of
despair, almost dead and defeated

Heart of strong will grasp the
situation at hand gains control,
overpowers the dark invasion of a
untimely disruption deep within

Mind and heart work in conjunction
with the soul bringing a trust of
encouragement, a union with a
conquering victorious nature -

as one wins the title again

A Lightning Tale...

Lightning sizzles the darkened sky
not asking anyone how or why
bringing depth to the moments hand
terrifying every creature and man

Moving with wildly startling speeds
screams with a fire tongue that leads
loosing its uncontrolled inner soul
as fury commands its devilish toll

Lightning the rage starts to succumb
all bow, their souls burnt into one
wiped away from coolness they found
only to be burnt, buried into the ground

Violence slowly coming to an end
as swirling calms the darkened wind
brings peace with a sorrowed frown
distant echo’s laugh like a clown -

as lightning tells its tale

Is the Same...

Wherever I go, my Father is with me
He shows me the right direction
gives me wisdom and confidence
how to handle the strife before me

Whenever I cry, my Father dries my tears
gives me comfort and a contented heart
for He knows I am deserving of His grace
and blessings to complete my spiritual life

Whatever I dream, He fulfills my thoughts
gives my spirit the will to seek my desires
teaching me to plan my daily walks to His
gardens of purity, goodness filled with love

Whoever comes into view, with a complaint or
thought that leads me to a misguided moment
I say unto you - He will bless your soul anyway
His love for you is the same love He gives to me

- Rhoda Galgiani

Love - Full Circle...

Waiting for the sunrise
longing for the night’s moon
one will bring golden light
the other hearts will swoon

Early birth renewed at dawn
tomorrow brings a new day
love went full circle again
along our path called Loving Way

Take my hand and walk with me
for today is bright and clear
hold my heart with tender touch
for my love is yours - my dear

Confusing Rushes

Dark fear of an unknown place
crowds the shadows of her mind
deep confusion rushes through
mind channels going nowhere

Runs through a dreary damp night
as her soul was called away
to a new place to complete
visions of her lost nightmares

Longing for the tide to turn
brings a calm to her mind of
insanity - her thoughts drive
her to deep depths of darkness -

she weeps

My Feline Buddies...

Max (l), Gracie (c) Mai Ling (r)

Something about the feline
tugs at my heart maybe their eyes,
or their fur, maybe their precious purr

Something about a homeless cat
stirs emotion wanting to take them home;
wanting to love them so they won’t roam

Something grew within my heart
I became a lover of felines they fill my heart;
bringing me joy, loving me from the very start

Something strange happened to me
a calling to care for them,  to give them love,
shelter and blessings from above

and I shall - my Feline Buddies
