So nice to be able to sit out with the neighbors again as the sun is shinning brightly - all of us are chatter-boxes and enjoy each others company - a few new neighbors are coming about - so good to see some new faces and hear new conversations as we sit...rg

An Awwww Moment...

The Hazel Dormouse is native to northern Europe and Asia Minor.
It is the only Dormouse native to the British Isles and is therefore,
often referred to simply as the Dormouse in British sources.
It hibernates from October to April-May.

A Kitty's Game ~

Waiting for those Snow Birds...
Clear
Window
Kitty’s peek
What can they see?
Looking for those birds outside
Wishing they would fly and glide
Swoop by the window sill
Kitty’s play their game
Claw the window pane
Inside no gain
Mewing with pain
Dang it!
Flew
Hey!
Slow
Up
Birds
Dream on Kitty Cats
As you, mew Oh, rats!
Tomorrow you play
With Birdies all day
At the window sill

Smiles...

(Yup! That's a NY Yankee Shirt I have on!
One with a sense of humor
will laugh throughout the day
taking with them joy and love
the way it should be, they say
Laugh we may - for it is right
as the silly in us brings a special glow
laughing together, we spread bright light
sharing smiles, the world will know -

Francis the Cat ~ by John Henson

That’s French you know, for Francis the cat
Here on the Champs Ellysees pickings are fat
And beautiful Mademoiselle’s stop for a chat
Oolala my friend I am in love with them all
Well! I am a young garcon and having a ball
Friends tell me the ladies will be my downfall
So! Until that happens, I will give them my all
I am the aristocat, the lord of the alleyways
Someone crosses my path and bravery he displays
Why I can run faster I know all the pathways
Though the ladies this somewhat dismays
Still I am the greatest there has ever been
A pussy cat extraordinaire, lean and mean
When I’m running away from the scene
I’m the fastest feline the world has ever seen

Happy Easter 2012

we shall come around again in time -
we salvage what truth is for we
shall draw upon it twice as much
Knowing deep in our minds
faith is the key to our sanity -
we lean to those who bring us
safety with their heartfelt love
Knowing deep in our beings
a sanction is waiting to comfort -
leading us to a light of fulfillment
and joy with others who know -

Gracie...
Gracie...
You wake my senses with loving charm as you caress my sleeping form, that brings me out a deep slumber you wake me to the light of an early morn
Sleepy eyed I look at you
excitement stirs within your heart,
knowing I am now awake
knowing I am now awake
brightens your waiting day to start
Each morning you come to me
touching my closed eye or my cheek, some days you lean against my side
finding your own safe place to sleep
And, some morns I wake upon my own
wondering if you forgot me that day,
how silly am I for there you come
you hear me stir as I get up my way -

Kitty Play Time...
they romped and played with me,
chasing them around the room
such fun we always have, us three
Moments of joy we share together
tossing their little toys in fun and play,
they hop and jump chasing each other
bringing back the toys - meow they say
My Kitties fill my heart with love
each morning I wake with hugs and purrs,
it’s 6 am they want me to come play,
or open a can of wet food, cuz -
wee’ze hungry, Mom
they say!!!

A Memory's Dream ~

into my view, as a halo surrounded you
I saw you, I knew -
As a young girl, you entered my life later asking me
to be a loving wife to share your dreams and time
forever with you -
Early years were tough for us as we learned to trust,
we started our family we grew up strong together
joined, you and me -
Doing what families do, time disappears, as she takes the
youthful years with comfort and joy, a family together
I did not know -
One day you came not to love me moving away from our
home and family leaving me alone lost and confused
your heart wanted to be free -
My mind and heart died that day when you suddenly
decided to go away, I hid my lingering love for you
alone, I cried -
Time and years have swiftly passed, I am still plagued
by the young love that did not last, as I remember
our time you took away -
Old and gray some nights I still dream of moments that
don’t go away as a broken mirror shows me her lines
with visions of the love we once shared as -
young love became a memory’s dream

A Winter's Moon ~

A winter’s moon touches the clouded sky
never giving thought as to how and why
brings eerie filtered light to darkened trees
creates wandering paths with gentle breeze
Lines of a face seemingly tired and old
moons imprint reveal tales it can be told
years of moonlight shinning down on the earth
captures history that hide a tales worth
Streaming yarns of decades and their glories
the man in the moon records their stories
never forgets who created it all
forming a structure so no one would fall
the cold winter moon sits high in the sky
never giving thought as to how and why

I'm Sorry - Your Duck Has Passed Away...
A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest. After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away."
The distressed woman wailed, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead," replied the vet…
"How can you be so sure?" she protested. "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something."
The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.
The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.
The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."
The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman.
The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$150!" she cried, "$150 just to tell me my duck is dead!"
The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan, it's now $150."
Mind & Body - We Shall Overcome

with glee and adventure on the horizon
happy with the moment spent within
oneself - accomplishment completed
Year wander by giving the aging soul
new goals, new thoughts and beginnings
challenges to strengthen the inner structure
preparing one self for changes again to begin
Determination to complete a given goal
to sustain ones destination in their
direction of a 'job well done'
mind and body join working together -
saying with heart - we shall overcome

'Expressions' Lighter Side...

As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don't really give a rat's hiney. It's the tortoise life for me!
1. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water and is fat
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years
4. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 150 years
and you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so
I'm retired - go around me!

Tornado Alley ~

as tears come to the eye
not understanding the pain
what is anyone to gain
Nature travel her deadly path
takes people in her wrath
saddened as Angels die
one seeks God as people cry
Why does one remains there
can’t they live anywhere
rebuilding a shattered home
roots are deep, they shan’t roam -
from earth’s alley of hell
Author's Note:

Now she is with her Mommy, Daddy, Sister and Brother

Dear Lord ~
You came to me today like yesterday
guiding me along showing me the way
You take my hand as we stroll down life’s path
as one, I fear not the world’s savage wrath
Alone was I until You came to me
my heart is full for thee I now do see
I am blessed for this I know in my heart
wondering how I survived from the start
My love for You grows stronger day by day
and to this, I lovingly want to say…
Amen
Dear Lord
Strength, your glory has given to my heart
guides me down a path I trust from the start
Lost was I till you came into my view
adrift until I meet the loving You
Not knowing which way in my life to go
I saw a glow, glorious you did show
Taking my hand in life forgiving sins
being blessed, I now spiritually win
As I follow Your word waiting for You
happiness in my heart seeing us two
Amen

Lost Valentine ~
Valentine pure ruby red
stir memories of a lost love gone
that promised to be forever from our
moment of sunset to our then sleepy dawn -
Through time, hearts lost its love
with dreams dying in vain
moving to another life that knows
no special love shall remain -
Valentine ruby red glow
gone with an icy cold wind
as time erased the meaning of
love that was taken from within -
Cherishing thoughts for a moment
one sits alone and dreams for awhile
memories of lost love thoughts bring
tears with a saddened, but bright smile -
that hides a lost Valentine
stir memories of a lost love gone
that promised to be forever from our
moment of sunset to our then sleepy dawn -
Through time, hearts lost its love
with dreams dying in vain
moving to another life that knows
no special love shall remain -
gone with an icy cold wind

You...
YOU touch my heart with love and joy
play with me and your favorite toy
YOU fit your name with style and grace
carry yourself as if you wore lace
YOU hug me at the morning’s dawn
touch my face to see me yawn
YOU bring me happiness every day
purring to me as if to say
Thank you for giving me a home
Because of you - I never shall roam –
From your love

Memories of a Sycamore...

caress the barren limbs
of the sycamore which
longs for her re-growth
Gentle breezes whisper
through her aged branches
that contain secrets of the young
from long ago yesterday
Lovers swayed beneath her
sprawling branches sharing their
secrets as protection from the
sycamore safely surrounded them
Sheltered from the world of
uncertainty, couples remain safe
from harm as the old sycamore
again contains a new memory of -
lovers and their youthful dreams

His Tears ~
Rain striking my window today
taps so gently as if to say
notice me, I’m here to play
but, God says no, no way
taps so gently as if to say
notice me, I’m here to play
but, God says no, no way
Pitter patter the rain does sing
down my window doing special things
like delicate chimes steadily ring
showers, God’s glory they will bring
down my window doing special things
like delicate chimes steadily ring
showers, God’s glory they will bring
Sidewalks, buildings and foliage wet
at times sprayed like a flying jet
you know how dirty they can get
His tears are cleaning, you can bet...
for our new beginning tomorrow

Hear Me Roar ~

I don’t think so,
no one can take from me
like a thief in the night,
comes along and just takes
I don’t think so.
No, you don’t,
how dare you steal
what is my heart and soul,
words written from my mind
No, you don’t.
Are you kidding me?
you come into my space and
take my prized possession,
my spirit and my tears
Are you kidding me?
I speak now to you
never shall I allow you to
sneak up upon my back and
take when I am not looking,
I speak now to you...
here me roar!

Trees

frozen trunks of the dormant
trees barren of their fruit
for it is the time of year
that all must be renewed
Sleep - as inner growth eternally
come alive prepares for their
spring birth along with the growth
of foliage that will protect their roots
as the upper branches become full
Dream - of a moment when
young sparrows clutter together
amongst your branches chirping
excitedly taking their first flight from
the security that you given them
Shelter - all who come to you
from the rain that showers the
meadow bringing life to all whom
dwell in your path of shadows that
filters the sun and its warmth -
for you are nature's heaven
January
January - cool this time of yearcompared to cold years ago,
brisk as one breathes walking
to where they must go
Chills climb up the spine
intertwines with a warm soul,
shivers grasp the gentle frame
bringing discomfort is its goal
Steps now enter where lead to be
the shelter is safe from the chill,
longing for inner body warmth
let’s sip some tea so we shan’t be ill
Dream of Summer that comes one day
burns our skin thoughts of winter we say,
bring her back we happily cheer
January - we love you so dear

He is Called Wolf ~

he IS attitude that comes
from where he has been
and where he shall go for the
forest is all that he has known
all that he has focused on his entire life
He is called Wolf -
with character of a strong willed
species that conquers his woes
who endures tirelessly day by day
fired fury from the wilderness
that is his dwelling called home
At the turn of the bend
his searching eyes scan for any
danger that may lurk within the
tree lined shadows for he is aware
of his destiny if he stumbles and
falls at the hand of nature -
faith pushes him on
