Terzanelle...

Heavenly Peace

A gentle feeling comes within
His light shines brightly on my soul
A gentle feeling comes within

Prayer and praise is my whispered goal
Sweet dreams I sleep safely all night
His light shines brightly on my soul

To please Him is my earthly flight
His love protects me all day long
Sweet dreams I sleep safely all night

Without my Father lost and gone
He builds me up and shows me way
His love protects me all day long

Questions of life is not my tray
For His calm brings me inner peace
He builds me up and shows me way

Joy comes to soul as all fears cease
A gentle feeling comes within
For His calm brings me inner peace
A gentle feeling comes within

- Rhoda Galgiani

Festivities

They come in a variety
of forms: Thanksgiving,
Christmas, barbeques,
cookouts, celebrations
and the like.
Most often, the festivities
are a time of fun and good cheer
that bring us all together.
A family dinner reminiscing
of the time when grandma made
that delicious old fashioned
ice cream or when granddaddy
would extend his hand for a nice
handshake before giving a big
hug and asking how is everything
going in our life.
Smiles galore, plenty of food and
conversation fill the room.
Such delightful times those
festivities bring.

The Heart

The heart is not always an
easy thing to figure out.
There are times when
it protects us and there are
times when it fails us.
It beats and is a living
piece of us, to be treated
with love and kindness.
Sometimes the heart causes
a lot of emotional turmoil
and sometimes it leads us to
paths of joy and happiness.
Oftentimes the heart can be
a bit unpredictable, as it can
wrestle with our emotions and
with our flesh and blood, yet
a heart devoted to God is guarded,
tucked away, and cared for so that
it knows it belongs to Him.

Recognition

Appearance beautifully clean
declared earnest favor gained
here in just kindness lends
mirrored notes outside pane

Redondilla...

Quietly Waits

Lines upon the brow take one from
a weary place of loneliness
eyes lost their glow and are now glum
for the one who is now homeless

Turn of events leave one alone
struggle to find their place of new
body sleeps in a place not known
prays dream now is not coming true

Empty and lost of wage and home
walking the streets cold and alone
dirty and crumbled one does roam
seeks a new found beautiful throne

Quietly waits - are his prayers heard?
Ones cold cries call to his Savior
longing to hear His promised word
please forgive sinful behavior

- Rhoda Galgiani

Redondilla Poetry Form -
• syllabic, usually written in 8 syllable lines
• stanzaic, written in any number of quatrains
• rhymed, most common rhyme scheme abba
• Redondilla Stanza is one of the most popular Castillian stanzas
since the 16th century. Apparently experimentation with the form
by Ezra Pound brought about a resurgence in popularity in the
20th century - is a Spanish poetry form...rg
