Opinions and thoughts come again

they bounce in and about the brain

wonder why the body takes the time

to digest the disruption around it

Attitudes changed from years ago

everyone is out for themselves

don't seem to care about the neighbor

or who walks down their block today

Innocent rights can't be brought back

then again who is to say for the future

worlds attitude became liberal and lost

carry an attitude of 'to each his own'

Sometimes it is safe to stand quiet

let the world pass at her own pace

one day though it will be truly over

as the soul moves hopefully home

Are You Up There? Looking for a Chat!

Quiet is the moment

tall barren trees stand still

motionless are the roots 

cling to their own windowsill

Where is human motion
turn to look the other way

all is quiet no one to greet

for a leisurely chat today

Still cold outside one hides

spring brings a brighter look

those hidden will submerge

again let's chat by the brook

People who converse with others

find joy many love to share

happiness consumes conversation

Old Style Me!

I'm from the old school

Lack of communication today

people don't seem to talk

can't say a simple hello or

goodbye as they take their walk

It's the age of modernization

you know, all the electronics

everyone has them by their side

even when reading their comics

Some still have a house phone

yes, that is the simple me

I like to talk on the phone but

give me an old one, yes sir-ree

It is a new world out there

this is good for most I know

for some who haven't moved on

it's a past time I can't let go for...

True friends are sincere

don't put you on just to

sound good at the moment

they speak the truth

Compliments are uplifting

brings one to a height

of glory and satisfaction

the day seems brighter

Friends who are full of love

are family - they fill the

empty gap when family

Age takes us to a different

place as the young pass us by

a busy world fills them up

Turn of a Calendar Page

Cold penetrates the soul

bring chills from top to bottom

warmth is truly longed for - but

months away from ones wants

Winter is just like it sounds, cold

what else can we expect now

east more than west - but

months of unrest shall pass

Wrap a garment around tightly

confine the warmth longed for

desire gradually takes control - but

only one who commands wins

Seasons are what they are

one learns to come and go along

The sea taking a salty breath
Hurried to wake the sleepy shore
Evades life by a drowning death
Holds the sandy earth by its core

Ends a struggle buried within
Never believed in its own wake
Enters a place where oceans spin
Nature’s riptide died in its quake

Every child laughs a joyous sound
Delighted sea dances in wave
Evil thought now hide below ground
Discover seashells they now crave

Ending toils shall now disappear
Rough sea became gentle white knight
Today children play with no fear
Ready to smile waves are just right

We can Control our Minds...

Visions come to mind

as the morning passes on

thought here, a thought there

wanders casually into one's mist

Clouds come into view

taints thoughts that try to evolve

it seems daily visions that form

somehow don't complete their pattern

Sometimes going through uncertainty

with moments of unrest and questions

it is Ok for that is how we grow

into our own structural being

Unrest shall be present as life goes on

somehow this is a learning tool

one should treasure and tuck away

for when the mind stops learning...

that is the day the body dies

Aimlessly the body wanders to and fro

down one clueless lane to another

time seems to have unravel one existence

daily moments of disarray seeks one

Questions arise as to one's pattern

old roads seem bumpy and uneven

one seeks a clean new break of events

only to find uncertainty with newness

Should one stray out for new discoveries

or play it safe in their dwelling of four walls

structure of seasoned wood binds their cares

that brings calm serenity to their confusion

One who is daring steps out

one who is cautious is steadfast

questions the adventures worth

Age changes one's thoughts

as to 'if they can still live'

as they use to when it comes

to relationships with men

Questions arise mentally about

one's age and the physical aspect

of a relationship with a new man

in a chat with the opposite sex

The younger mind is confident

or simply doesn't care what

the opposite sex thinks -

they just move on

Older gals dwell, question

themselves and wonder

hmmm, is this for me now

yup, I hope it is - but...

I am not taking the negative

road especially now that I 

opened my mind and heart

at my age go look to see

Bare are the autumn limbs

Leaves upon the ground

brown dry blow'in in the wind

comes this cold fall day

with blueness deep in the sky

Christmas lights appear 

in the windows close by

those eager for the second

holiday event to begin

Kitties watch the leaves

tumble from corner to corner

of the window sill where they sit

hope to join in the outside fun

Not today - it's too cold

maybe tomorrow a stroll outside

a rustle and bustle they both

playfully look forward to...
