Sung in a Song

Words come to mind as in a song
Whimsical movement beat is long
Rhyme takes hold now fitting the tune
Voice sings a gentle quiet croon
All who hear the words of surprise
Some you can hear their quiet cries
Story told - sad turn of events
About young soldiers lived in tents
Cold and hungry they fought the war
Protect their country as they swore
Truce has come loud gunfire has stopped
White flag between them now is swapped
Words come to mind sung in a song
Senseless war ends - soldiers are strong
