As one goes through heartache a tear soothes one's cheek of memories - pain comes and goes and only time will ease one's painful emotions - bonding has grown over years of togetherness - memories shall always remain as I cling to Gracie within my mourning heart...rg Established 2009

Gracie...
Gracie...
You wake my senses with loving charm as you caress my sleeping form, that brings me out a deep slumber you wake me to the light of an early morn
Sleepy eyed I look at you
excitement stirs within your heart,
knowing I am now awake
knowing I am now awake
brightens your waiting day to start
Each morning you come to me
touching my closed eye or my cheek, some days you lean against my side
finding your own safe place to sleep
And, some morns I wake upon my own
wondering if you forgot me that day,
how silly am I for there you come
you hear me stir as I get up my way -

Kitty Play Time...
they romped and played with me,
chasing them around the room
such fun we always have, us three
Moments of joy we share together
tossing their little toys in fun and play,
they hop and jump chasing each other
bringing back the toys - meow they say
My Kitties fill my heart with love
each morning I wake with hugs and purrs,
it’s 6 am they want me to come play,
or open a can of wet food, cuz -
wee’ze hungry, Mom
they say!!!

A Memory's Dream ~
into my view, as a halo surrounded you
I saw you, I knew -
As a young girl, you entered my life later asking me
to be a loving wife to share your dreams and time
forever with you -
Early years were tough for us as we learned to trust,
we started our family we grew up strong together
joined, you and me -
Doing what families do, time disappears, as she takes the
youthful years with comfort and joy, a family together
I did not know -
One day you came not to love me moving away from our
home and family leaving me alone lost and confused
your heart wanted to be free -
My mind and heart died that day when you suddenly
decided to go away, I hid my lingering love for you
alone, I cried -
Time and years have swiftly passed, I am still plagued
by the young love that did not last, as I remember
our time you took away -
Old and gray some nights I still dream of moments that
don’t go away as a broken mirror shows me her lines
with visions of the love we once shared as -
young love became a memory’s dream

A Winter's Moon ~
A winter’s moon touches the clouded sky
never giving thought as to how and why
brings eerie filtered light to darkened trees
creates wandering paths with gentle breeze
Lines of a face seemingly tired and old
moons imprint reveal tales it can be told
years of moonlight shinning down on the earth
captures history that hide a tales worth
Streaming yarns of decades and their glories
the man in the moon records their stories
never forgets who created it all
forming a structure so no one would fall
the cold winter moon sits high in the sky
never giving thought as to how and why

I'm Sorry - Your Duck Has Passed Away...
A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.
After a moment or two, the vet shook his head and sadly said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles, has passed away."
The distressed woman wailed, "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead," replied the vet…
"How can you be so sure?" she protested. "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or something."
The vet rolled his eyes, turned around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and shook his head.
The vet patted the dog on the head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and strolled out of the room.
The vet looked at the woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."
The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and produced a bill, which he handed to the woman.
The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "$150!" she cried, "$150 just to tell me my duck is dead!"
The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it, the bill would have been $20, but with the Lab Report and the Cat Scan, it's now $150."

Mind & Body - We Shall Overcome
with glee and adventure on the horizon
happy with the moment spent within
oneself - accomplishment completed
Year wander by giving the aging soul
new goals, new thoughts and beginnings
challenges to strengthen the inner structure
preparing one self for changes again to begin
Determination to complete a given goal
to sustain ones destination in their
direction of a 'job well done'
mind and body join working together -
saying with heart - we shall overcome

'Expressions' Lighter Side...
As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don't really give a rat's hiney. It's the tortoise life for me!
1. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water and is fat
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years
4. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 150 years
and you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so
I'm retired - go around me!

Tornado Alley ~
as tears come to the eye
not understanding the pain
what is anyone to gain
Nature travel her deadly path
takes people in her wrath
saddened as Angels die
one seeks God as people cry
Why does one remains there
can’t they live anywhere
rebuilding a shattered home
roots are deep, they shan’t roam -
from earth’s alley of hell
Author's Note:
My thoughts are with Baby Angel who died today in Indiana -
Now she is with her Mommy, Daddy, Sister and Brother
who were killed in the Tornado also...rg
