Comfort the Shadows

Beyond the wall a wave comes in
Washes away all human sin
Forgiveness comes in a night’s prayer
People close their eyes in despair

The people have no protection
From the now stirring infection
As disease comes touches the shore
Calm at the moment is no more

People pray to their God above
Asking for guidance and His love
Comfort the shadows of their wrath
Bring warmth and healing to their path

Beyond the wall a wave comes in
Destroys human life and their kin
Cries of their fear is heard worldwide
Help the people no place to hide

World come together show your love
Bring hope by the wings of a dove

Surround the Lonely Heart

Diamonds created from an uncut stone
buried within the earth’s surface,
once found they are cut and shaped
with facets of purity

Rare is the Diamond that sparkles
with a magnitude of brilliance,
catches a sad eye for clarity
with hues that glow - blinding

Diamonds fill the heart - the purest
of love is given as the soul surrounds
its glowing depth, bringing a moment
of silence to the heart that feels

Rare is the substance that one takes
for granted, purity and love may be
shared as the Diamond opens the heart
to the facets of life as gifts of love -

Reason to Rhyme

Looking at the pages of writings from long ago
I ponder my thoughts and wonder where I will go
Should I write something new that is of now
or post words of old that taught me how

Words come so easy to one with gabby thoughts
seems there is a rhyme, but free verse is what I caught
Like I am talking to you in a moment of peace
we chat about the world or events brings a release

So I read my past poetry it shows a younger me
words of sad tears and then some smiles happy to see
‘Expression’ I contain which is a blessing I do carry
so happy to write because it releases the weary

Now I post these thoughts with love in my heart
for all of you who read me from the very start
Thank you friends for your moment in time
I am joyful for you give me reason to rhyme
