Serenity Light
Slowly she walks to the clearing
leaving tall rugged trees behind
her breath is in a labored state
she hurries to the wooden bridge
Escaping turmoil of decades
she turns quickly to see the path
behind her, empty as her life
no one to follow her footsteps
Moments of freedom caress her
plan of flight for so long now real
she quickly runs across the bridge
she reaches for her waiting light
A bright new dawn now comes to her
promises of a brand new world
she claims her found visions today
her night dreams were of darkest form

serenity light gives bright dreams

Free Verse or Unrhymed Poetry Form has no rhyme, no special
line length or no special pattern. It sounds like natural speech. It tells a
story or paints a picture. It uses carefully chosen words to describe
experiences or feelings. It is written like a poem and not like a paragraph. It
must make sense to the reader…rg
This is a beautiful poem, Rhoda. Your talent shines in this one. Keep up the good writing my friend.

Thank you Karen for the wonderful comment. I enjoyed writing this poetry - it is something like I would write years ago in the late 90's! rg
ReplyDeleteFree verse suits you my friend. With out a lot of rules, the poetry flows out of your soul in such a natural way. Well done!
