Time helps heal the pains of a grieving heart. My bond with Gracie was more than with any other animal. That is because she had asthma and was given a pill once a day for 16 years. Ginger is not a friendly but, I can tell she misses Gracie and their companionship. At my age I feel it is too late to get another kitten or animal...Ginger will have to do! Thanks for caring...rg

Moments in Time

that we shall all remember knowing
a moment shall come around again
Moments of laughter, of joyous times
with one another as the children played
we all came together - as one
Younger days, growing and longing as
we dreamed of life that shall be laid out
before us - our destiny - our fate
Memories of friends that shared thoughts
of our new homes around us, the planting of
seeds that grew and nurtured our families
Knowing deep in our hearts, we shall
come around again as we passed
through our own moments of time -
we remember those along the way

A Poet's Mirage ~

The movement of the free hand
glides across the page knowing
time and again moments of a
new calling will come before thee
Weary at times wanting to rest
driven to complete a memory,
a thought or feeling before it is
lost in an afternoon’s frenzy
The movement of the free hand
captures forever a lasting expression
nurturing with care not to wavier the
momentum of what is real to the mind
Weary at times wanting to sleep
away the words heard within,
to sweep them under a pillow
of dreams, praying to drift into –
a poet’s mirage of perfection

In My Dreams ~

where the young run free,
not fettered by concrete
and enclosed spaces.
I dream of green fields
where children breathe clean air,
not stained by smoke spewing
factories and gray skyscrapers.
I dream of uncluttered fields
where youth play baseball,
not hindered by gang infested
streets and violence.
I dream of natural fields
where kids pick wildflowers,
not hampered by littered
alleys and windowless rooms.
I dream of God’s fields
where children remain innocent,
not plagued with images
that can destroy young lives.
