Quatrain...

'Painting Black Lilies on the Knoll'

Dark Eyes

How does one learn to accept thee
Not question who and what you are
With passion that comes from afar
Full of emotion that can’t flee

Becoming a distant lost soul
Whose angel spirit fell away
Creating shadows of dark gray
Painting black lilies on the knoll

Calling your name hear a love’s breath
As spirits, lighten your sad brow
Come hold my hand - come to me now
True love will take your thought of death

Distant light comes to warm your heart
Brings comfort to body and mind
Open dark eyes totally blind
Come - choose the path to a new start

- Rhoda Galgiani

Hourglass...

Believe In Oneself

Faith within gives hope to one’s soul
Giving strength to a weakened heart
The spirit conquers a lost goal
Teaches the mind a youthful art

Take one’s struggles cast them aside
Worry none about those who play
Care for yourself with special pride
Become strong - emotions won’t stray

The light shines on you with a glow
Knowing your strength is stronger now
Because you are learning how to grow
Come now take a fabulous bow

Come now take a fabulous bow
Because you are learning how to grow
knowing your strength is stronger now
The light shines on you with a glow

Become strong - emotions won’t stray
Care for yourself with special pride
Worry none about those who play
Take one’s struggles cast them aside

Teaches the mind a youthful art
The spirit conquers a lost goal
Giving strength to a weakened heart
Faith within gives hope to one’s soul

Rictameter...

Thoughts

Wishing
A lost child’s game
Long ago thoughts buried
Sleepy eyed visions wished upon
Hear the bluebirds that have long since been gone
Joyous dreams dance in the night air
Granting wishes somewhere
Hear my thoughts now
Wishing

Searching
At lost and found
Look around for someone
Might be lost and wants to be found
They could seek someone maybe just like me
Pretend you are finally found
By one who came around
The long lost bend
Searching

Binding
Moments in time
Colorful pictures drawn
Captures a memory today
Etched deep within ones mind everlasting
Picture come into ones own thoughts
Heart finds gentle promise
Whispers of love
Binding

- Rhoda Galgiani

Carousel Race...

Up and down, round and round
The carousel circle flow
Around around, up and down
Watch the wooden horse go

A childhood memory
We all have a few
A little piece of history
Will never be a fond adieux

The painted treasures we did ride
Amongst the many to choose
Our favorite was our pride
To us it did amuse

So set yourself and join the pace
The ride is almost through
We always said we won the race
As we ride as our steeds flew

Sonnet...

A Women Scorn

The heart has turned away hiding inside
Conceals the pure love that once did glow
Afraid to reveal pain the heart does show
Broken with slashes deep trying to hide

Body mends the mind closed the gap so wide
Love has taken the soul far below
Buries the guilt so his hand cannot sow
Heart crying deep tears as true love has died

Soul has learned not to trust anymore
Steals ones mind and thoughts not to restore
His lying lips she’s now a woman scorn
Emotions wasted on visions now torn

Walks alone to regain life as was born
Brings hope to a women who is lovelorn

Free Verse...

For Tomorrow

Sensation penetrates the troubled mind
as if to sooth, to comfort the turmoil of
conflict that came before the darkened brow

Life of confidence, of one’s serenity is
shattered just for the moment at hand
a moment that is taken for granted in life

Ray of light shows a stumble is one’s road
bringing one to their knees just for an instant
not forever as the saddened mind would suggest

Life has its woes that brings one to shed tears
something tells the dark heart not to worry
God’s there to wash one clean for tomorrow

- Rhoda Galgiani
